Grant Application Announcement

The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is applying for a grant to equip six (6) new patrol cars with emergency lighting equipment, protective shields and radios. The new cars have been ordered and should be delivered prior to July 1, 2009.

Without this grant the Sheriff’s Office would be forced to take funding from another budget category to have enough funding to completely outfit the cars to prepare them for patrol functions; or, would have to reduce the fleet size by removing light bars and shields from older patrol cars rendering them useless for duty. However, with this grant the Sheriff’s Office is able to have the additional funding needed to complete the project without taking from a different budget category and can increase the fleet size to accommodate the need for the patrol vehicles.

There are two (2) documents here. The program narrative is a more detailed explanation of the grant and the Budget Worksheet shows the areas where the funds are to spent.
