How do I get a concealed weapons permit?

Concealed Pistol Licenses: "CPL's" are no longer issued at the Sheriff's Office.  CPL's are now issued in the Jail Lobby located at 139 3rd Ave North in Okanogan.  The entrance to the lobby is directly behind the flagpole on the front side (facing east) of the courthouse across from city hall. Costs are $60.00 for an original, $32.00 for a renewal, $42.00 for a late renewal (can only be up to 90 days of expiration or will need to apply for an original), $10.00 for a replacement.

Where can I find Landlord/Tenant Law information?

The link provided below is for the Washington State Attorney General's Office. The Landlord/Tenant Law is very complicated and changing on a regular basis. Deputies cannot give any legal advice and these laws are no exception. Normally the Sheriff's Office is involved in Landlord/Tenant disputes in a civil stand-by capacity only.

Who does animal control?

Okanogan County has no specialized animal control enforcement officer. All calls for service into the Sheriff's Office are given to their perspective jurisdictions. Some of the incorporated City's have animal control laws but if you live outside these Cities then there are few laws governing animals. Okanogan County doesn't have an animal shelter. People who have unwanted or homeless pets are referred to a private organization, Animal Foster Care (509) 422-3364.
