   Driving While Under the Influence

 

 

   The "You Drink & Drive, You Lose." Campaign reminds everyone:

bullet
Don't risk it -- If you plan to drive, don't drink or use any drugs.
bullet
Choose a sober designated driver before celebrating.
bullet
Take mass transit, a taxicab or ask a friend to drive you home.
bullet
Spend the night where the activity is being held.
bullet
Report impaired drivers to law enforcement.
bullet
Always wear your safety belt.

bullet 2 out of every 5 Americans will be involved in a drug or alcohol related collision at some point in their lifetime.
bullet In 2001, 281 people lost their lives across Washington State due to alcohol related traffic collisions.
bullet 94% of alcohol related fatalities would not have happened if the driver had not been drinking.
bullet DUI injuries and deaths are 100% preventable, and they are in no way car accidents.
